Saturday Superbowl Sundae

Superbowl Sundae Disciple DayWell, we didn’t play any football.  We didn’t have Beyoncé.  We didn’t have $3.8 million 30-second endorsements.  But we did have electricity without fail!  And, even some ice cream…

I must admit, this wasn’t our most creative event.  This was an ice cream social wrapped around an NFL extravaganza that wouldn’t even take place until the next day – after everyone went home.

However, although you cannot always count on us to be creative (or even the electricity for that matter) you can always count of Jesus showing up – yeah baby!  (Matthew 18:20)

This week presented some new challenges and some new blessings.  That main challenge was having some extra little ones and some fewer big ones (adults) to assist…  YIKES!  We made it by the Grace of God!

We also had a couple new families come and join us – what a blessing.  We even got to witness the healing power of prayer in an Awesome way, and that is what I want to talk about…  It was so amazing!

As I mentioned we had some new families join us.  One of the (new) families had a little girl who was suffering (and I mean suffering – poor child) with some backed-up poopy.  That’s called “constipation” for those of you who aren’t used to parent-talk.  She had been to the ER, taken laxatives and nothing was moving — yet.

Mark 11:24 (NIV)
Therefore I tell you, whatever you ask for in prayer, believe that you have received it, and it will be yours.

A hand was laid on the little girl, a prayer was said…  POOP!  Yes, a little while later she went potty….  Coincidence?  Good timing?  NO!  PRAISE THE LORD who keeps His promises.  (Numbers 23:19)

The little girl felt so much better she asked (dare I say begged – yeah, I just said it) her mom if she could spend the night with the rest of the kids.  Her mother wisely suggested that she could spend the night another weekend and they went home later in the evening.  Today I heard/read that she is continuing to “flush out” and get better.  PRAISE GOD!

God is so Great and alone is worthy of our worship and praise!  THANK YOU GOD for letting me, letting us, be a witness to some of your amazing works, I will continue to boast in you!  (1 Corinthians 1:31)

  • Praise God not only for the excellent time we all got to spend together but for the relief of the little one! Who needs $3.whatever million dollars worth of advertising?!
