A Prayer Over Us All

On September 5, 2013 by Jeremy Durdel

Numbers 6:22-27 The LORD spoke to Moses, saying, “Speak to Aaron and his sons, saying, Thus you shall bless the people of Israel: you shall say to them, The LORD bless you and keep you; the LORD make his face to shine upon you and be gracious to you; the LORD lift up his countenance upon you and give you peace. “So shall they put my name upon the people of Israel, and I will bless them.”
This prayer was prayed by Aaron over the people of Israel. Aaron was the High Priest over the people of Israel. I find it to be comforting to know that we have a High Priest over us who has suffered and been tried just the same as us, but yet without spot or blemish, who has sacrificed for us once and for all the perfect sacrifice, pleasing God the Father, satisfying his judgement once and for all for those who believe on him who is Jesus the Christ.
Acts 3:26 God, having raised up his servant, sent him to you first, to bless you by turning every one of you from your wickedness.”
The servant God raised up is none other than Jesus himself. Sent to us to bless us, how by turning us from our wickedness.
Hebrews 3:1-6 Therefore, holy brothers, you who share in a heavenly calling, consider Jesus, the apostle and high priest of our confession, who was faithful to him who appointed him, just as Moses also was faithful in all God’s house. For Jesus has been counted worthy of more glory than Moses-as much more glory as the builder of a house has more honor than the house itself. (For every house is built by someone, but the builder of all things is God.) Now Moses was faithful in all God’s house as a servant, to testify to the things that were to be spoken later, but Christ is faithful over God’s house as a son. And we are his house if indeed we hold fast our confidence and our boasting in our hope. Hebrews 7:25 Consequently, he is able to save to the uttermost those who draw near to God through him, since he always lives to make intercession for them.
As that isn’t enough he also mediates for us acting as our attorney defending us against the accusations of Satan.
The point I’m trying to make is Jesus is currently making intercession for us right now before God and not only that, but he is praying blessings over our lives as sons and daughters of God. Which should compel us to live out Matthew 28:18-20 And Jesus came and said to them, “All authority in heaven and on earth has been given to me. Go therefore and make disciples of all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father and of the Son and of the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all that I have commanded you. And behold, I am with you always, to the end of the age.”
Also I want you to know I will pray the same prayer of blessing for you all, believing this prayer to be an awesome long forgotten prayer we should pray over each other as often as we come to the Throne of Gods Awesome Grace.
Remember YOU ARE LOVED!!!

Forgiven, not by anything I have done, thank you Jesus, but only because of what Jesus has done for me.
