May The Circle Be Unbroken

To KICK off the fall season of Disciple Days, we returned to the park! Tara brought a bunch of hula hoops to teach some of us how to work the ring and allow those already versed in the art (I will say it is an art that I have never gotten around to perfecting… unless you consider twirling one around my arm perfecting….) to display their talent..  Some were able to twirl multiple hoops around their heads, shoulders, knees, and toes (as well as other body parts).  I marveled at one young man who was able to make three revolve around his little waist!

While many tried to display their talents with the hoops, a small but rowdy (?) bunch of us engaged in a battle on the gridiron,  By the time our little game of “touch” football was complete, there were face hits, a shameless (or is it seamless) cheerleading (I think that is what it was) display.  Somehow, little Luke survived the field unscathed while being carried down the field by Chris..  I believe that I caught a few passes and managed to take a few opposing team members down.  CRAZY,  NUTS, but fun!

In our down time prior to the rough stuff began, some of us talked with Luther who stopped in on his way to a small area town to visit with another group that had just been formed to allow teenagers to come and join together in fellowship and fun.  What an amazing guy!  Hopefully, groups like this continue to spring up and prosper in order to help our youth discover the Good News and allow those who already know our Lord to introduce Him to others.

Later, Elizabeth shared the story of her young daughter’s continuing eventful health.  What an amazing story and miracle! “Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord, the fruit of the womb a reward.” (Psalm 127:3)

I really need to remember a camera! Kyli hooping it up!

 “It is He who sits above the circle of the earth,

and its inhabitants are like grasshoppers;

who stretches out the heavens like a curtain,

and spreads them like a tent to dwell in;

who brings princes to nothing,

and makes the rulers of the earth as emptiness.” (Isaiah 40:22-23)

As a new season of our lives begins, may HE watch over all athletes professional as well as sandlot and keep them safe.
